NOTD (Nails Of The Day) 21/3/13

Left to Right: Seche Vite Topcoat / Maybelline Forever Strong Pro in 'Ceramic Blue' / L'oreal Topcoat in 'Confetti'

The Illamasqua Speckled Nail Varnish Range (£14.50 each)

I really liked the look of the Illamasqua 'Speckled' nail varnishes that they'd brought out recently this year, but I couldn't justify forking out £14.50 for one of them. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and DIM (do it myself). Although mine don't look exactly the same I think its about as close as you can get. So I used my beloved, and I mean beloved, so much so that I think it's run out now, and I went to have a look in 3 Boots stores, and they had none, and I'm pretty sure they've discontinued it, which I am frankly quite distraught over. Anyway, I put two coats of that on, and added the L'oreal 'Confetti' top coat, and polished (no pun intended) with my also beloved Seche Vite. And I really like them, I can't stop staring at them and I find them comparable to Mini Eggs, and who doesn't enjoy a cheeky bag or Mini Eggs or 6.

I love pastel nail varnishes as it is, but these are bang on for spring and I really do recommend you all try and get your hands on either the Illamasqua ones if you can afford them, or trying out my method with a pastel colour of your choice, seeing as one of my favourite nail varnishes of all time may or not have been discontinued. If any of you know whether it has, or where I can get a dupe for it, pretty please let me know and I'll be forever grateful.

Sincerely heartbroken.

Just kidding but seriously, help a sister out and let her know!

xoxo
