Tresemme 60 Second Treatment Shot

Right so here I am listening to Justin Timberlake's new album (which is incredible by the way) and eating my rice pudding (don't hate) and I decided to write a nice little evening blog post. So earlier this evening, I decided to have a bath after being ill for 4 consecutive days and to hopefully shake off the remnants of the illness, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to get back into my regimental skincare routine and treat my hair also. I recently mentioned in my latest haul that I'd purchased some of the fairly new on the scene Tresemme 'shots'.

These were brought to my attention by Alix from ICovetThee when she mentioned that they left her hair feeling lovely and soft, that's persuasion enough for me as in my opinion, that's one of the best feelings in the world. So I had pretty high expectations for these, especially considering the price
of them being £0.69 in Superdrug right now, but £1.49 normally so naturally I bought 3. We all know that I am a sucker for anything that has the words 'hair' and 'mask' in the same sentence so with the price, the recommendation, and the product itself, I was all in.

I was a bit baffled as to how this little thing would manage to work in a minute and supposedly repair 2 years worth of damage in 5 uses. I don't know if it's because its my first use or because its just a gimmick but it just didn't seem to do much. Maybe it's because I'm so used to my Philip Kingsley Elasticizer but okay, it left my hair feeling relatively soft but nothing groundbreaking. One thing I did notice, which I'm not sure whether it's just me imagining things, or if it actually is, but my hair does feel a lot stronger and less brittle. I have a real issue with brittle hair as mine is so very long so that's a plus.

To be quite honest, for the price of what I paid (£0.69) I think it is worth it, however at full price, 5 of these little shots would cost you £7.45 and you are better off buying Tresemme's Keratin Smooth Mask which is normally £5.99 for 300ml (£2.45 at the moment). It's a great, affordable hair mask and although I will continue to finish off my 2 last shots I don't think I'll be repurchasing them again. It was a nice little pick me up and I think we'll leave it at that.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried the shot?

  1. I don't know if it's just rumours but I've heard tresemme has a lot of harmful chemicals which result in hair damage after a long period of time.
not sure if it's true but be careful!
