Benefit Watt's Up? Highlighter

So as usual I'm a bit late to the overly -hyped- by -the -beauty- bloggers party. Here we have the Benefit 'Watt's Up' highlighter and I won't lie, other than my obsession with owning as many highlighters as my pay cheque will allow me to, the hype was the reason I bought it!

I've only ever tried a cream highlighter once before which was my Illamasqua Gleam Cream which I absolutely loved, but never have I tried one in stick form. Watt's Up, I keep wanting to type 'Whatsapp' and I also keep calling it that as well, is a beautiful champagne highlight colour and it's different to anything else that I own.

It's a double ended stick which has the product on one side and a sponge on the other. To be quite honest, I don't think the sponge is very useful as it's not very sturdy and it feels as if it's going to fall off each time I try and use it to blend the highlighter in, so I stopped using it. It also gets very dirty because I'm sure most people, like myself, use highlighter after they've applied foundation so it goes a really nice shade of foundation after each use. It doesn't seem as if it is easily cleaned, although I haven''t actually tried as I don't really see the point.

As for application, I use one swipe on each cheekbone and one on my nose and that usually does the trick, however I think I need to find a more dense brush to blend it in with, as I've mentioned the sponge is rubbish, and I think once I've done that it will work perfectly.

Have any of you tried this? Do you think the sponge is any good? If not what are your alternatives?

Kassia xoxo

  1. I never use the sponge because it doesn't blend it out right! I just use a foundation brush or my fingers to blend out any harsh lines! :)
